Instructions
1.Measure the length and width of the table and the
thickness of the tabletop itself. For round tables, measure the diameter of the
table and add the thickness of the tabletop.
2. Using scissors or a fabric knife, cut the cloth that
will cover the top of the table to the table's dimensions plus 1 inch of
overhang on all sides. The extra material is necessary for the seam for the
second piece of the skirt.
3. Cut the fabric
that will drape the table (and serve as the actual skirt). The fabric should be
as wide as the clearance between the tabletop and the floor, and as long as the
perimeter or circumference of the tabletop.
4. Warm up
your iron to the setting stated on the seam tape. Overlap the two pieces of
fabric, then put the tape over the seam and iron the tape according to the
manufacturer's instructions. Tape the seam around the entire skirt.
5. Place the
fabric over your table and drape it the way that you think looks best, making
sure the corners properly align to your table edges or, for round tables, that
the center of the fabric aligns to the center of the table.
